First of all, apologies for the lack of updates. Just had the move home from Leamington and had a lot to sort out, including potential travel plans! WOO. Anyway, the winner from the poll like, ages ago, was Sunglasses. YAY.

Had some negative feedback about the gallery layout so we’re back to the single column format for this week’s update. I have to say that I’m still being dicked around by repair companies and have been without my beautiful D60 for a good 3 weeks now, so all of these shots were taken on my Canon PowerShot SX120 IS.

First up is a street candid I took after noticing some potential irony, the rest are from around Leamington town and the Warlingham area in Surrey.

Update 20/06/2010: D60-less.

Once again I have sent off my D60 to have the fault the repairmen caused fixed before I move out of Leamington and cancel my insurance. That means that all photos from this week were taken with the Canon SX120IS, which I don’t currently have CHDK installed on, so I can’t get RAW images. Nonetheless, I soldiered on!

As for last week’s poll, the clear winner was Bus which I have slightly updated since last week by tweaking the angle and crop.

So on to this week’s photo, with various locations from Stratford to Kenilworth and a shot of my new Diana F+ Edelweiss – my first film camera YAY.

I am also trying out a “gallery”-style layout for more convenient perusal, let me know what you think via my twitter, because I am desperate for validation.

EXAMS ARE OVER YEEEEAAAAAAH! Now I’m just waiting on my results but in the mean time I have been getting busy with the Nikon and have a full range of shots for your viewing pleasure. This also means the notorious POLL OF GLORY is returning, and you’ll have your chance to vote on your favourite to be announced next week.

Bit of a variety pack this week, some shots from campus, Warwick, and even from inside my housemate’s car. Enjoy!

I have my final two exams tomorrow and the day after, so this is another rushed post. I probably don’t have enough decent photos for a poll this week, unfortunately…

I CAN tell you that last week’s winner was Birthday Cake. YAAAAY.

Anyway, here’s what I’ve whipped up quick for you this week. I haven’t quite mastered getting rid of halos in HDR images, so excuse the portraits…

I’m now in the middle of my exam period, so it’s another short one this time. A few photos from Kirsty’s birthday party, one of a local school in Leamington, and then my super happy Xbox.

So, once again I will start with the winner from last week’s favourite photo poll, which is… Election Morning. Yay! Thanks for voting.

This week all the photos are from my new Canon PowerShot SX120 with CHDK installed for extra functionality. As a result of a chat with my housemates about the saleability of my photos, I’ve made an effort to do some “nice” photos this week, making the most of what little sun we’ve had.

I’ve also included my first proper attempt at an HDR portrait at the bottom which, though slightly blurred and with imperfect lighting, I’m quite happy with.

Update 09/05/2010: Night Shots/General Election

First things first – the vote results from last week. It actually ended up as a last-minute draw for first between Staircase and Factory 1, with Factory Window effectively third. Thanks for voting!

As for this week’s shots, clue’s in the title. A fair few low-light long exposures from, SHOCK HORROR, South Leamington. I’ve actually included some photos with real people in them this time, just to mix it up a bit. Election Morning is probably my favourite, capturing in one shot the essence of student life – empty cans, lazy days, old decorations and a little bit of hard work.

Right at the bottom there’s a photo I didn’t take with my D60, I was testing my housemate Chris’ new Canon Ixus 100IS which has a pretty nifty macro function.

As usual, I’ll post a poll for you to vote on your favourite from this week’s collection to be announced next Sunday!

Update 02/05/2010: South Leamington/New Format

Having looked at the statistics, crunched the numbers, and listened to the people, I have decided to change the (non-)format of this site from ‘posts whenever I happen to have a few photos ready to go’ to a weekly update on a Sunday starting from today.

Hopefully, this will mean not only that people are more interested in clicking on, but I will have a more even and manageable motivation to take photos.

This week, all of the photos are from, SURPRISE SURPRISE, South Leamington (where I live). They are mostly backstreet or fenced off scenes. I’ve also included some heavily photoshopped mess-around shots which are just a bit of fun.

EDIT: I have also now added a poll to the sidebar so that you can vote on your favourite photos. Admittedly, it looks a bit shoddy right now, I’ll work on it. Winner next week! HOW EXCITING!

Graffitti, wasn’t sure whether the B&W or the heavily desaturated shot looked best so I’ve included both.

A couple of extra dodgy photoshop jobs. Whilst messing about with the sky in the shot directly below it got pretty heavily posterized and lost a lot of the original quality. Still not a bad sort of dystopian effect.

EDIT: Grass Reverse (above) included thanks to suggestions. I’ll stick it in the poll, too.
